Product Philosophy

Our product philosophy  is to provide modern, powerful, and easy to use solutions for machine shops. 

Increased shop productivity is the primary goal of all FeatureCAM products. At the core of this philosophy is FeatureCAM’s feature-based approach to CAM. Traditional CAM systems are operations based and require you to program every operation, one at a time, to create your part.   All the manufacturing details are left to the machinist  That means that you must specify the details for every spot drill, drill, ream and roughing pass of your part. With FeatureCAM you generate your part using features such as a tapped hole, a boss, or a turned groove and the operations are automatically created. FeatureCAM also manages the details of the manufacturing process such as tool selection, speed and feed rates, and toolpaths. To modify any element of the part program, just change a few settings on a feature and a whole new set of operations are generated to reflect your changes.

Ease of use is another guiding principal of FeatureCAM products. Our system was originally developed as a graphical Windows-based program. As a result is does not suffer from an outdated DOS look. FeatureCAM programs are full of graphical feedback, step-by-step wizards and tutorial-style animations that run directly in the program dialog boxes. Ease of use has always been a FeatureCAM advantage and we continue to study ways to make our system even easier to learn and use.

We understand that customer feedback is essential to a thriving product line. Each major release of FeatureCAM contains hundreds of user-requested features and changes.  Customer requests are logged in a central product database that is continually reviewed during the development process. We know that our customers are truly manufacturing experts and they are the key to our future success.
