• Featurecam makes its tool selection based on the smallest inside radius it has to cut.   This selection may cause a very small tool to be selected for rough and finish.  The following is a 6 sided pocket with .125 radiuses in the corners:

• You can tell Featurecam to use multiple roughing tools in the following manner:

• Bring up the feature properties and click on the rough operation in the tree view

1. Select "Mult. rough diameter(s)= " and type in the tool diameters you want to use from largest to smallest separated by a comma.

2. For example - to use a 1/2", 1/4" tool type .5,.25

3. A zero at the end of this list tells Featurecam to automatically select the largest tool in the current crib which will fit into the radius.

4. Featurecam will remember the area cut by the 1st tool and only give toolpaths over the remaining material for the following tool used.
